Root Canal

When we talk about root canal we are referring to the nerves inside a tooth. Every tooth has nerve(s) which brings sensation to the tooth. There are blood vessels inside a tooth as well which brings nutrients to a tooth. When tooth becomes infected and the infection gets very close or inside a nerve system, severe pain could be experienced. If left untreated it could lead to an abscess. To eliminate the agonizing pain and discomfort, root canal therapy which is removing the infected nerve is initiated. By removing the infect nerves and diseased tissue inside the tooth, pain is eliminated and tooth could be restored to its normal functionality. After root canal completed inside the tooth needs to be rebuilt and a crown is placed over the tooth to bring back the stability to the tooth.

Root canal treatment begins with standard accessing the nerve. Then tiny files are used to access the canal, remove the infected nerve, and shape the canal for the filling and sealing the canals. After the completion of root canal, inside the tooth is rebuild. In some cases dental post is necessary to anchor the final restoration which is a crown. The root canal and restoring the tooth can take two to three appointments.
